Hello, my friends!

First off, thank you for the replies and votes over the past few days - I really appreciate you taking the time to share what works best for your routine.

The clear favorite was early morning updates between 6:00 - 6:15 EST. So that’s what we’ll roll with moving forward.

We all know the feeling: that same emotional tug hits traders, investors, and entrepreneurs alike, session after session.

It’s the Uncontrollable Impulse.

🔥 Once it fires, recovering from it quickly is what separates a good day from a derailed one. I’m not suggesting we turn into emotionless machines - it’s normal and part of being human.

😣 What matters is learning how to reset after the impulse hits - so you can step back into your day with clarity and a positive mindset instead of carrying regret or frustration.

🎯 Going forward, each letter will kick off with a real-world example of one common impulse, followed by a straightforward way to recover and refocus. Simple steps you can apply right away.

This is a massive earnings week - think Microsoft, Meta, Apple, Tesla, and dozens more reporting.

We’re likely to see individual names and entire indices with expanded ATRs (Average True Range) - and plenty of “moonshot” moments.

One impulse that never seems to fade: FOMO.

Quick Solution: Commit to this hard rule: “I won’t enter any post-earnings breakout for at least 15 - 30 minutes after the initial surge.” Set a simple timer on your phone or trading platform. That short pause lets my emotions settle all the time. Most explosive moves will fade, consolidate, or reverse shortly after the open.

Today’s Key Impulses

Here is todays lineup in EST:

8:30 AM – RTX (RTX) Earnings Call
8:30 AM – General Motors (GM) Earnings Call
8:30 AM – American Airlines (AAL) Earnings Call
8:30 AM – UPS (UPS) Earnings Call
10:00 AM – US Consumer Confidence (Jan)
10:30 AM – Boeing (BA) Earnings Call

In the pre-market routine (6:00–6:15 EST), I would run a quick filter:

  • Does the setup meet your structure/volume criteria, or is it pure hype?

  • Pause on any urge to chase - those 15–30 minute delays we discussed can save a lot of regret.

Whatever impulses show up today - whether from the earnings wave or the Consumer Confidence number - we’ll unpack a recovery tool or two in tomorrow’s note so you can reset quickly.
